The IAF Association was established in 1991, with Maj. Gen. Amos Lapidot as the first elected president of the Association. The IAF Association is the veterans association which provides a framework for all veterans who served in the IAF.

Membership fees assist the Association in financing activities such as reunions, financial aid to members in distress, recreational activities to members, quarterly newsletter and an annual gathering of members. 

The association has close to 5,000 members, and its purpose is to uphold the legacy of the IAF, strengthen the connection between the members, as well as support the IAF bereaved families.

The Association’s president is the former IAF Commander and IAF Center Association Board Member, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Herzle Bodinger, its CEO is Col (Res.) Yaacov (Jecky) Shporen.
